ABIDE WITH ME: more media coverage . . .

ABIDE WITH ME was officially released one month ago exactly.  And what a month it's been . . .

My first ever book signings, at Waterstones RomfordWaterstones Lakeside, and The Newham Bookshop; media coverage in my local paper, plus a review in THE SUN - the biggest selling newspaper in the country.  I have met a bloke with a tattoo of the initials of his football team on the inside of his bottom lip and an old lady with self-confessed tatty knickers.  I have had emails from people I don't even know telling me how much the book has affected them, and that always brings a lump to my throat.

And today, a fledgling paper entitle THE UNDERGROUND BOOK CLUB is being given away at Tube Stations around London - with an estimated punter coverage of ten thousand people.  CRIME FICTION LOVER, the much respected crime fiction review site, have a full page add.  And taking the centre ground between a Jo Nesbo and a P.D. James, Luca Veste's brilliant review of ABIDE WITH ME:

You can read Luca's original review here

And a lovely review has just gone up over at Eva's Sanctuary.  Click here for a gander at that one.

And to top it all, the paperback edition of ABIDE WITH ME has spent the last few days as the best-selling Sports Fiction book on Amazon UK.

I've experience things in the last four weeks I thought I would never experience in my life - indeed, some things, such as the book signings, that I would at one time be shaking like a jelly at the very prospect.  But this journey is changing me.  I can feel it.  Whatever else happens from here on in, I know I will never be the same person again.  The demons I've carried - should I say, chosen to carry - my entire life are dying off by the bucket-load.

I feel lighter.  Stronger.  Not so much in need of chocolate.  Most days.  And it really is just the beginning.

Three more book signings to go, with talk of another couple being added on; and a whole load of other people just waiting to be met and situations evolving in the ether just waiting to encounter.

I know I keep saying it, but thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has supported me and the book on this journey.  I really couldn't have taken one step without each and every one of you.

All the best,

Ian
