ABIDE WITH ME: In the paper again . . .

Hi all :)

On a rubbishy rainy day over here in Old Blighty, it's high time for another blog post . . .

Waterstones, Ilford

This coming Saturday sees the fourth date on the ABIDE WITH ME Book Tour - the location this time being Waterstones at Ilford.  To this end, I popped into the shop yesterday, armed with, well, an armful of bookmarks to deposit.  I spoke to the very kind and friendly, Eleanor, who happily told me the books for the signing had just arrived and a display in the front window was planned for later that day.  I must say, Waterstones - to a man and a boy, a woman and a girl - have been incredibly impressive in my contact with them.  For a major high street chain it is incredible they still have the time and the inclination to want to put themselves out so much for the little bloke - in this case, me.  I know all stores are different, but ROMFORD, LAKESIDE, and ILFORD, hats off.  An absolute pleasure.

In other news, I had a phone call from a journalist from the Newham Recorder yesterday.  She asked me a couple of questions regarding an article on the book due to got to press that afternoon.

And here it is:

Me, sitting outside the Newham Bookshop on a beautiful day on the Barking Road

It really was a day to remember, the Newham Bookshop signing.  I blogged about it here if you happened to miss all the excitement.

A couple more lovely reviews popped up on Amazon UK today, which was great.  I really do appreciate anyone who takes the time to sit down and put their thoughts on paper, as it were, about the book.  Good, bad, or indifferent, they're all priceless.

And, finally, I was interviewed by the lovely Fiona McVie over at Inspiration Forum.  If you fancy a gander at what we spoke about it, just click here

Look after yourselves, everyone.

All the best,

Ian
